Yasmeen Khan is a broadcaster, writer/performer and public relations consultant.

BROADCASTING Yasmeen is a freelance broadcaster, with over ten years experience in live presenting across a variety of genres. She has presented and co-produced a range of documentaries  on BBC Radio 4 - see Broadcasting tab for more info. She currently hosts the Friday Drivetime show on talkRADIO as well as a weekly show on BBC Three Counties Radio, Sundays 6pm-8pm. In 2015 Yasmeen hosted the Friday and Saturday late show on BBC Radio London, a lively, topical phone in show. Previously Yasmeen was a regular presenter of the BBC Asian Network's daily phone-in show. Since 2007 Yasmeen has acted as cultural advisor to BBC EastEnders, advising on aspects of the 'Masood' family storylines. Yasmeen writes across a variety of topics, including issues relating to the British Asian community. With a love of arts and culture, Yasmeen is often asked to host events or chair Q&A sessions with actors and directors at plays and film screenings.

PLAYWRITING & PERFORMANCE  Yasmeen also focuses on writing for the stage. She is a graduate of the Royal Court Theatre's Critical Mass writer programme and Kali Theatre's Talkback development programme. Her first play was a co-production between Rifco Arts and Watford Palace - Break the Floorboards toured in May/June 2013 and won Best Live Event at the 2014 Asian Media Awards. She also recently co-wrote and performed a play at The Pleasance theatre about the dark side of fame.  Yasmeen is creator and curator of an arts and culture blog, The Rehearsal Room and has produced, curated and hosted three evenings of new theatre writing under the banner of The Rehearsal Room Presents. In 2016 Yasmeen filmed for a forthcoming new children's programme in which she plays a series regular. Previously, Yasmeen wrote and performed comedy and drama as part of the MUJU theatre group and comedy sketch duo Asian Provocateurs. Asian Prvocateurs were listed by the Sunday Times as one of the top six female acts to see at Edinburgh 2011. 

PR With over a decade's experience working in corporate PR, Yasmeen is a multi-skilled public relations professional with expertise in media and research brands across print, broadcast, & consumer media. She now works freelance, focussing on PR for arts/culture projects.
